The University of Houston-Victoria Small Business Development Center and the Victoria Chamber of Commerce will present a four-part series on human resource management that is geared for business owners, human resource professionals and business managers.

 

These events will be packed with current information, delivered in four-hour sessions to fit the schedules of an increasingly fast-paced business society.

 

“The HR Breakfast Series is one of the many venues that the chamber uses to deliver current, relevant and reliable information to its membership,” said Emily Weatherly, interim director for the Victoria Chamber of Commerce. “We enjoy partnering with the Small Business Development Center to bring such strong programs to our members as well as the clients they serve.”

 

The HR Breakfast Series dates and agendas are as follows:

 

February 21 The Employment Process

 

How to recruit, hire, develop and terminate legally

 

March 21 Employee Handbooks

 

What you need to know to develop or update your employment policies

 

April 4 Harassment & Violence Update

 

Develop an approach to eliminating harassment,minimize the potential for workplace violence and learn the elements for security planning

 

April 18 Dealing with Difficult People

 

Learn different communication styles an d strategies to turn conflict into cooperation

 

 

Each seminar will be held at the University of Houston-Victoria Multipurpose Room located at 3007 N. Ben Wilson and a full breakfast will be served. All seminars will be held from 8 a.m. until noon. Sessions are $50 each or $150 for all four sessions. Please call 361-573-5277 to register.

 

Deadline to RSVP is one week prior to each seminar. To receive a discount for all four seminars, the deadline is February 9. Please note all cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance to avoid charges.
