After several months of a nationwide search, the Victoria Chamber of Commerce has hired a new Executive Director for the Victoria Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Bridgette Bise started her new position yesterday, taking over the reins of the Victoria CVB, which operates under the administration of the Victoria Chamber of Commerce.

Bise has 15 years of experience in marketing, public relations, advertising, events and fundraising. As a seasoned award-winning tourism professional, she has served as Executive Director of the Elk City Convention and Visitors Bureau in Elk City, Oklahoma; Executive Director of the Grand Lake Association in Northeast Oklahoma and Marketing and Promotions Director at the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks, Oklahoma.

“I am excited about the opportunity to promote Victoria and bring new visitors to see this great community,” said Bise. “I am anxious to get involved in tourism at the state level to make sure our legislators and tourism officials in Austin know that Victoria wants to be a player when it comes to attracting visitors.”

First on Bise’s agenda is to create a marketing plan which will detail plans on how to use the newly released branding campaign to capitalize on a new image for Victoria . Bise will unveil the marketing plan by October 1st. Bise also plans to utilize all mediums of advertising with specific emphasis on utilizing her PR skills to “more bang for the buck.” Long range plans include creating an annual signature event that will attract thousands of people to Victoria .

“Bridgette brings a refreshing enthusiastic approach on tourism which will enable us to capitalize on what Victoria has to offer potential visitors,” said Randy Vivian , President and CEO of the Victoria Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber is under contract with the City of Victoria to oversee the Victoria CVB. The Victoria CVB is funded by a tourism tax that is assessed to overnight guests to that stay at the hotels and motels and is collected by the city quarterly.
