Jerod Turner of Hurst needed the 72nd hole of the DeTar/Victoria Chamber - Victoria Open to win the event.  On a windy day at the Victoria Country Club, Turner birdied the final hole of the tournament to pull out the victory.

Turner and Edward Loar of Dallas, battled all day in the event.  Loar took a two stroke lead into the 12th after he birded the 11th and Turner made a bogey.  Loar then bogeyed 15 and 16 to leave the door open for Turner to bring home the win.

Turner hit a towering third shot form about 60 yards out that came within inches of finding the bottom of the cup.  The ball settled 6 inches from the hole.  Turner walked up and tapped in for the birdie and the win.  This was Turner's first win on the Adam's Pro Golf Series Tour.  He pocketed $15,000 for the victory.

The Victoria Chamber of Commerce hosted the event for the 15th time at the Victoria Country Club.  This year's title sponsor was DeTar Healthcare System.  Pro/Am's were sponsored by Exelon Nuclear and AT&T.  "Wthout our great sponsors we would never be able to put on a professional tournament of the caliber," said Randy Vivian, Presient/CEO of the Victoria Chamber of Commerce.
