Ryan Vermeer needed one extra hole to claim victory in the INVISTA/DeTar Victoria Open hosted by the Victoria Chamber of Commerce and Adams Golf.  Vermeer and Justin Bates were both tied at 15 under after 72 holes.  Both players then proceeded to Hole 1 at the Victoria Country Club to start Sudden Death.  Vermeer birdied the first hole to take home the victory.

"I felt this one was kind of mine for some reason in the sense that Justin had two putts on the front nine lip out and he also hit the shot on 11 that went in the hole and popped out,"  Vermeer said.

This year's event was again held at the Victoria Country Club.  Professional play began on Thursday after two days of Pro/Ams.  Nineteen teams participated in both Tuesday and Wednesday's Pro/Am.

It was another great year for the INVISTA/DeTar Victoria Open.  "The course was in excellent condition and being able to work with our sponsors, Adams Golf and the Victoria Country Club is always a pleasure,"  said Randy Vivian, President/CEO of the Victoria Chamber of Commerce.
