An Evening in Ante-Bellum Texas Lecture, Campfire Dinner and Reception - October 21; lecture begins promptly at 6:30pm.  The first “Distinguished Fellow of the Museum of the Coastal Bend ” will be announced. Carol Taylor, historian, examines cattle drives, cattle marketing, droughts and packing plants in ante-bellum Texas . Immediately following the presentation, enjoy a Campfire Dinner prepared by Dr. Dennis Riedesel. The lecture and dinner will be held in the museum’s Outdoor Demo Area. Inside the museum, enjoy a reception catered by The Main Course, book signings by conference authors, and visiting with conference attendees and historians. Master of Ceremonies is Michael Hummel, Victoria College .
