Victoria Symphony - Master Series 1 "Music from the Highlands" - September 18, 2010 starting at 8:00 pm at the Leo Welder Center or Performing Arts at 204 N. Main - Jessica Mathaes – Violin - The Land of Scotland is a land of luminous lochs and majestic mountains and so is the music.  The majesty of this fascinating country comes to Victoria in musical form as we present Scottish-influenced music.  English composer Malcolm Arnold's Scottish Dances begins the concert while German Max Bruch puts Scotland into concerto form in this Scottish Fantasy for violin and orchestra.  Finally Austrian Felix Mendelssohn rounds out our concert with his Symphony #3 subtitled "the Scottish".
