Museum of the Coastal Bend - Lecture - On Give Me Land, Lots of Land - March 11, 2010 starting at 5:30 pm located at 2200 N. Red River.  This slide presentation emphasizes the importance of land acquisition by early Texans who immigrated from other parts of the country, their interest in acquiring land for farms and ranches, and the importance and preservation of records in the history of Texas.  Native Texan Martha Everman Jones, presenter, received a Ph.D in education curriculum and instruction from Texas A&M University. Recently retired from Victoria College and the University of Houston-Victoria, she presents genealogy workshops at local, state, and national levels and writes an award-winning column for the Vcitoria Advocate.  For more information call (361) 582-2511.
